I come from Salamanca, in Spain, home of the renowned University of Salamanca, where I studied my Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting. During my college years I could perfect my language skills and become proficient in the more specialised areas of translation: scientific and technical translation, audiovisual translation, legal translation and literary translation, among other expertises.
Further down the road I expanded my formal training and obtained a diploma in Translation Project Management by Cálamo & Cran, a formative center based in Madrid, Spain, which specialises in educational courses in Translation and Linguistics. This course defined and delved into the hands-on aspects of translation projects and the role of a specialised project manager.
I started working as a self-employed professional translator in 2010. Ever since I have collaborated with numerous private clients, several public bodies and quite a few translation agencies, such as Straker Translations and Translated. I have also worked as a project manager in LanguageWire, a Danish tech company from the translation industry.
More recently, I worked as a translator and proofreader in the Servicio Central de Idiomas (Language Services Office) at the University of Salamanca, where I focused on translating and correcting diverse academic texts, such as research and theory papers, general disclosure and informative texts, as well as administrative forms, certificates and reports.
My experience as a translator and language expert has been extensive. I have taken part in projects from a myriad of fields and with all kinds of clients. Working through tight deadlines and delivering exceptional quality is my everyday.
